Gwili Vintage Railway & Carmarthen
A warm Welsh welcome awaits as you board this most popular steam train trip at Abergwili Junction for a scenic, memorable ride! Journey through pretty fields, over sparkling rivers on this steam-powered locomotive trip. Ideal for families and heritage-lovers alike. Known as 'the friendly line', this steam and diesel railway operates on part of the former Carmarthen to Aberystwyth line. Round trip included - 90 minutes. Heading back towards Tenby a stop in Carmarthen on the banks of the River Tywi, the oldest town in Wales, proud of its Roman origins as well as its links with the Arthurian legends of Merlin. The wizard is said by some to have been born here. The town's castle ruins have a colourful history of being besieged by the English, and subsequently destroyed and rebuilt in 1215. Roman gold and Egyptian artefacts
Pembroke Castle & Town
Once enclosed by a fortified wall and home to some fine Georgian houses there is much to explore in pretty Pembroke. Dating back over 900 years, and famous for its castle which is one of the most complete Norman castles in the UK, it was also the birthplace of Henry VII, founder of the Tudor dynasty. The central main street heads away from the castle gates and there is plenty to discover in the historic streets. Entrance and guided tour included. There will be free time in the town before a scenic drive back to Tenby
Optional Excursion - June - 6 Day tour
Picton Castle & Haverfordwest
Picton Castle & Gardens have been awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for five years running (entrance included). The Secret Owl Garden is home to the largest collection of owls in Wales. Hidden away are specially designed aviaries for 25 different species of owls. Enjoy your visit before setting off for nearby Haverfordwest an attractive and ancient county town of Pembrokeshire. As well as being the county's administrative centre, Haverfordwest has a great variety of shops in the town and is dominated by the Western Cleddau that runs through the middle of the town and the castle that towers above it. Haverfordwest has been established for almost 1,000 years. In Elizabethan times, Haverfordwest was the second largest port in Wales and remained the main port in West Wales until the coming of the railway in 1853. Cost £23 ( includes castle entrance.)
