Doc Martin Country Guided Tour
In the company of a knowledgeable local guide, explore Doc Martin country and filming locations. Head to the pretty fishing village of Port Isaac, known in the popular TV drama as the community of Portwenn which is the backdrop of the majority of the filming locations including Doc Martin’s house and the village surgery. Fern Cottage is one of the most recognisable Doc Martin locations and draws fans from all over the world keen to get a shot of Doctor Ellingham's surgery.
St Ives
St Ives is a the dazzling jewel in Cornwall's crown - a picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town, a haven for artists, holidaymakers and anyone who appreciates just how breathtaking England's coast can be. Boasting gorgeous sandy beaches, delightful fishermen's cottages, cobbled streets and an array of wonderfully enticing boutique and independent shops, visitors are sure to enjoy exploring this pretty Cornish port. Once a busy pilchard harbour, St Ives later became the centre of Cornwall's arts scene in the 1920s and '30s, when luminary figures such as Barbara Hepworth arrived in search of artistic freedom. St Ives still retains its artistic connections with numerous galleries including the renowned Tate St Ives.
Isles of Scilly for the Day
After an early breakfast, head to Penzance to board the morning ferry for the crossing (2h45m) to the largest island, St Mary's for a unique perspective of some of Cornwall's most iconic coastline. There are comfy, reclining seats as well as on-board café. Only 28 miles west of the mainland, the Isles of Scilly feel like a different world - azure seas, white sand beaches, sub-tropical gardens and one of the warmest climates in the UK. Encompassing an area of less than 2.5 square miles St Mary's has an intimate atmosphere that exudes small island life. For those feeling especially spritely a walk around the island might be in order. Explore Hugh Town or take a local bus (fare not included) to enjoy the wonderful sights of the island. Return to the mainland in the afternoon with a later dinner this evening
Return Day - It's farewell to Cornwall as you head for home today. Travel back to interchange with suitable refreshment stops en-route to arrive back at your home towns early evening.
