Day out in Salisbury
Spend the day in Salisbury, a Cathedral city of ageless beauty and captivating history, which has been welcoming travellers since 1227. Gathered around the Cathedral is a modern medieval city, packed with architecture from another age. Meander the historic streets and alleyways with their charming half-timbered buildings. Perhaps visit one of the museums (Salisbury Museum - entrance approx. £10 pp / The Rifles Berkshire & Wiltshire Museum - entrance approx. £5 pp). Saturday is market day and you will find an array of local produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, cheeses, eggs, haberdashery, carpets, clothes, shoes, jewellery, kitchenware and even furniture. This afternoon head to Britain’s tallest spire to explore the Cathedral and Cloisters with an included guided tour. See the world’s oldest mechanical clock and the best-preserved original 1215 Magna Carta – all in one beautiful place. After the tour endulge in a tasty cream tea in the Refectory Restaurant.
Day out in Bath
Built for pleasure and relaxation, beautiful Bath has been a wellbeing destination since Roman times. The waters are still a big draw, both at the ancient Roman Baths and the thoroughly modern Thermae Bath Spa. Its compact, visitor-friendly centre is overflowing with places to eat and drink, plus some of the finest independent shops in Britain. Immerse yourself in Bath’s remarkable collection of museums and galleries or perhaps a visit to the Roman Baths (entry at weekends approx £20 pp - pre-booking advised). Bath's stunning honey-coloured Georgian architecture is straight from a Jane Austen novel with highlights including the famous Pulteney Bridge, the iconic Royal Crescent and the majestic Circus. Enjoy free time or your driver may offer an optional city sightseeing tour.
Day 4 - It's farewell to Wiltshire as you head for home today. Travel back to interchange with a stop in Royal Windsor where you spend enjoy some free time in this buzzing town with its world-famous majestic castle right in the centre. Then it’s time to re-board the coach to head back to interchange and onward to your home towns mid-evening
