Itinerary

Day 1 - From your chosen joining point your feeder vehicle will take you to your designated interchange point where your holiday begins.   After joining your holiday coach heading northwards, with a comfort stop en route before arriving at your hotel for the next 3 nights. Arrival night and last night include breakfast & dinner. Second night is on breakfast basis only to give you the opportunity to sample the local cuisine from this central hotel.  At leisure with 2 Included Excursions

Day 2

Prince Bishop River Cruise & Cream Tea at Lumley Castle

All aboard and head to Durham to join the one hour cruise on The Prince Bishop River Cruiser, with spectacular views of historic Durham City, Cathedral, Castle and Bridges. The Prince Bishop river cruiser is fully heated with a 150 passenger capacity, twin decks, open viewing deck, bar & toilets.

In the afternoon a short drive to the magnificent spectacle of Lumley Castle dominating the County Durham landscape. Surrounded by beautiful parklands overlooking the River Wear Lumley Castle is a magnificent monument to a bygone age of chivalry and honour. Your cream tea here will be a unique and memorable experience. (Included)

Day 3

Hadrians Wall & Chesters Roman Fort

Walk along the most famous wall in Britain! Named in honour of the emperor who built it, Hadrian's Wall is a 73-mile long wall built between 122 - 128 AD and the fact that much of it still stands today is a testament to Roman engineering. See what life was like at one the Roman Empire's most northern outposts. Chesters Roman Fort (entry included) is the most complete Roman cavalry fort in Britain - wander around the unusually well-preserved baths and steam room, and the officers' quarters.

Day 4 - Check out after a full English breakfast head back to the local area with an interesting stop en route.

Coach seating arrangements

Your seats on the main coach will be allocated for you in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible. Your Tour Manager or driver will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)

Joining your holiday

Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 7 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.

Meal arrangements

Where meals are not included, your Tour Manager will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch and/or dinner each day.

Triple rooms

The majority of these consist of a double bed and an extra bed that is often only suitable for children. If this is a concern, you may wish to consider booking more than one room for your group.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
