Head to Freshwater Bay with its huge chalk stacks before reaching Alum Bay with its multi-coloured sands and the famous Needles. The return journey takes in the picturesque old village of Godshill with its delightful thatched cottages, gift shops, tea rooms, ice cream parlours, pubs and a church up on the hill.
OPTIONAL EXCURSION - A choice of two locations
Osborne House (Return Transfers - Entrance fee not included) or;
Ryde & Cowes
Queen Victoria died at Osborne House in January 1901. Following her death, the house became surplus to royal requirements and was given to the state, with a few rooms being retained as a private museum to Queen Victoria. From 1903 until 1921 it was used as a junior officer training college for the Royal Navy, known as the Royal Naval College, Osborne.
Or stay on the coach with a visit to Ryde, the much loved seaside destination of Queen Victoria. With long, spacious stretches of sandy beach, a thriving independent shopping scene and fabulous eating out, Ryde is a quirky mix of a traditional seaside fun, Victorian architecture and unexpected hidden gems! Some free time here before continuing onto Cowes. Home to the oldest and biggest sailing regatta in the world, Cowes is the number one destination for sailors during the summer months. But it also boasts a rich wealth of history and culture with its ‘twin’ East Cowes just across the Medina estuary by chain ferry Stroll through the vibrant town and enjoy independent shops, sit at a pavement café and people watch.
